My engineering drawings for Furyious

not part of the plan , 4spd cars stay , and auto's can go on the block sort of speak . that would make a total of five or six keepers . but i'll make some auto exception of course . and i'll convert some , that will make the number grow . lol . and yes on the red dust boots , its a proven fact the red is faster then black . it weighs less also , less letters in its name . any reduction in weight make speed easier to achieve . just don't forget to wax them with a high silicon fluid type polish wax . it makes the air slide by without a ripple .

don't forget the special buffing towel . the shiner the slicker . but what about that weather under carriage , that slows the wind down , maybe a little more squirting there too . i'm thinking your just going to have to much fun with that car , hope your ready for it , lol . just remember you have a job , you don't need one at the track as well . thats how is one was , fun n grins !

I can put a belly pan under it if I need more ET. Hey pomonamissel you ever watch those vids on YouTube of the southeast gasser associations. They have some pretty cool cars. I've seen em run a few times

nope i've not watched them run on u tube . just trying to get mine closer to enjoy . i been working on this duster for months on these f...n lifters . freash every thing and these hyd hylift johnsons are the worst . let them sit over night and it rattle city on the fire up . gone through a few sets . getting trioed of pulling it apart , now i got a set from isky , there f...n johnsons also . got the cam grind over on saturday to do the install so he can first hand see the issues of soft lifters . so the f...n lifters will be fitted . hows hyd lifters are you using . these are a high crown type some .003 crown on them , with this new cam design with on parkerizing for oil retention , so the lifter does not make full radius connect to spin the lifter around uses just the center of the lifter about a pencil erracer spot on the lifter wear . thats a perf wear pattern , just can't keep the lifter hard . there telling me to drive it an it will quite down , well i drove the car over 60 miles and there sytill noisy on cold fire ups . but saturday will be different , right . lol .

I did a smallblock Charger for a guy one time. Installed a Comp cam. On warm up it was ok. After break in & cool down restarted & rattled bad. He was not happy. Engine felt good, vacumn good, dead hole check. Everything was good. Told him to drive & it should quiten down. It took two days but suddenly it went away. He came by the next Saturday & we went for a drive & he wrecked the damn car. He won't used to the power LOL.

I have yet to hear anyone say their valvetrain wasn't more noisy after using a Comp cam.
Someone once explained to me about it having to due to ramp angles Comp like to use.
I dunno. I'll vouch that they are noisy tho...

This was a classic dead lifter sound. Very loud. I didn't have a stethoscope then so I used the wooden stick method to determine which hole. Pulled the wire & then cylinder died so I told the guy it was fine just drive it. Hoping it would clear up. I used the Stock rockers & pushrods. When he brought it back a few days later it was quite. I figured a piece of trash had worked it's way into the lifter. I think it was a .480 lift cam. He called Comp & this was what they recommended. A 73 Charger 318. Did intake & Holley 600. ***** would run.

cbodybob , thanks for that info , we now have a set of hylift johnson's that on isky's specs . so i'll see . at least these bubbled up when i put them standing in the oil bucket . got to rework the rocket tips . there not flat either . engine builder said he did them . but the witness marks are wrong . so lap them again , then install , along with the rest of the parts , then fire it again for break in . and more testing . then back for a fuel injection mod from the carb . owner wants 100k to 200k out of this engine as a driver .
