My new turns lens from OZ came yes!

Thanks, just curious. We have some bad *** test engineers in Germany that actually test if the proper codes that confirm to be legal are on such lenses. But they tend to die out or go to retirement.
The codes are there. The interior reflector is as bold as the original, but it’s not seen. I believe he must do some polishing on the main portion of the lens. It is completely there but not very visible. You can feel it so if your old judge runs his finger across it he would be able to feel it but probably not see it.

These are 1971 models because they are amber. The correct ones are clear with silver painted hood in front of the lenses. Thanks for thinking of us out there.

If they are exactly the same except the color George can make a mold of the amber and then make new ones in clear. I have no idea how expensive it would be to make a mold and I have heard you could wait a long time to receive it too. I guess if they are really rare it might be worth it, otherwise probably not.

I figure several of you have heard of George Laurie, but for those who have not he makes new plastic lens. He is from Australia and if you are lucky enough that he has already made a mold for the lens you need, he will make you a new lens.

I had seen some lists of lens he makes but there was never any 300 lens on the list. I found an e-mail and wrote him directly. He has one mold for a 300 and it was the one I need.

This is what really surprised me. I had this conversation a month ago with him and placed the order and sent my money and received it today. I couldn’t be happier with the workmanship.

Do you have his email? or the list of what he has molded? I need the left side backup lense for the 67' sport fury convert Im restoring.

Have any of you tried to make your own? There are links on the web on how to and where to buy the materials. Im having a tough time finding the last part I need for my resto.

Saw a "how-to" in some old car mag, don't remember the details but it was rather easy for smaller pieces without any trim involved.
