It has a **** ton of wires going up into the dash. I think it has something to do with the cruise control?

Has three adjustments......sensitivity, low speed sw, centering. ??

I hope so, I bet they learned some new words while I was pulling that engine and trans yesterday. I told the wife I could do it in three hours, it took three hours and fifteen minutes.

Cool, that matches all the components on my imperial. It looks like the previous owner left the factory stuff under hood and mounted this set up in there as well.

Cruise control? What's wrong with your feet?

Glenn

Nothing more frustrating than running your cruise on the interstate until you have to click it off because some ******* is varying his speed.

Thats part of the driving experience Ross. You feel the car through the throttle and the wheel.... OH thats right, you also are an advocate of backup cameras....

Just stay to the left and lock it at 54-1/2 and you'll never touch the pedal until it's time to exit.

I love cruise control, although I do not have it on any of my cars anymore. I just make sure it is set just below the number 1 lane and stay in the number 2 lane. If I gain on a slower vehicle I press the accelerator merge left pass and move back over and never cancel the cruise. If I find myself hovering around a vehicle that is varying speed and impacting me I just put some distance between us (like hammer down, kick in the secondaries) and problem solved.

Works for me and I'm in Southern California.

Those damn speed limit driving law abiding citizens do nothing but get in the way

Tell me about it, the Basic Speed Law works for me but is too subjective.

What I do not like is the split speed limits for trucks and trailers, it just creates bottlenecks or causing most of the traffic to hang out in the number 1 lane.

Now do I want 80,000 lbs going down the highway at 70-75?

Alan

City streets neighborhoods anywhere their is high pedestrian traffic that's what speed limits are set for. On the open highway & interstates speed limits are for revenue generation only and split speed limits are absurd Ohio and other states where forced to take them of interstates in2009 and in Oct got rid of them all together, problem now is there is a whole generation of drivers that automatically think the truck is going 10 mph slower and will go 80+mph passed me going 75 and then they slow to 70 and with some this can go on 2-3 times passing back and forth how is this safe. 80,000 at 70-75mph I'm doing that as I type this. Kidding!

I drove a Mack Midliner for several years on the highway and throughout Sothern California, I was on the 99 north of Fresno once and I came up on a slower car (I was probably doing 72, floored) and timed a pass and went around never even lifted. No sooner did I do that did the car pass me and slow back to 63. We played leap frog a couple dozen times a few times with the air horn as I just about clipped both bumpers, it didn't end till we got another lane and I drove away from them. If they had just let me go I would have been gone.

I don't use cruise much myself and I drive a lot. Maybe on a long trip on a nice day, but that's it. I don't like not being able to just lift off the pedal and straightening the car out if something bad happens.

They started doing public service announcements for the dumb asses that use the cruise on rainy even snowy roads... Geesh....

I do use a backup camera in my Ford Excursion. I can't turn my head right more than 45° and the backup camera makes it a LOT easier.

Oh... and isn't "cruise control" a GM term??
