Name that girl

i know of Morissette because i have daughters that like/know of her music/acting.

None of her stuff is on my playlists ... but I like some of her music through my now-grown girls.

Dogma (1999) was a good movie to me, though my oldest aunt (she's 88) insists I will be joining Affleck's character in the "lower regions" -- because i watched it. Alanis too - she played "God" in it. :poke:

anyway when OP, i pick these "girls' because their professional fame is likely recognizable through mass media sources as well ... Fox, CNN, network TV, etc.,

unless epically tragic/infamous, other personal stuff they do outside their professions rarely gets my attention. :)

I haven't played for a while. I got Alanis from her picture. The last current picture from the reveal would have made it harder for me.

Extra Alanis tidbit. She is know for coining the phrase "friends with benefits". It was from a line in one of her songs, I can't remember which one at this moment.

Maybe she will feel better knowing the the story is loosely based off the world in the comic book The Preacher. But I doubt it.

Not an Alanis fan by any stretch of the imagination... But don't worry, I'll try to save you a cool spot.

New Game.

Died about five years ago. Age 97. Singer, Actor, and lifetime animal lover, particularly last half of her life. Cincinnati girl by birth.

She was a more memorable singer, to me, but she also an accomplished, award winning actor.

I like her smooth voice, doing songs well before I was born, that still seem to resonate with audiences 80 years later. Some called her "the voice of WW II", only in her 20's, at the height of the big band era.

She acted in several theatrical movies -- TCM-kinda fare today -- in classic roles, including one really famous "rom-com" about a "party line". Btw, she would encounter her very famous co-star in that movie again, many years later, near the controversial end of his life in early 80's.

She did musicals, dramas, and mystery-thrillers .. so she was quite versatile. By late 1960's, she was kinda through with the big screen, for about 5 years on the small screen with a network TV "sit-com" that bore her name.

Below, age 10, then about ten years years later as a successful, young singer. Plus a little extra .. she's here in another thread about cars.

Dont know her by face? I am sure the clues will easily lead you to her with a tad of sleuthing.

Answer this weekend sometime.

I didn't get immediately from the clues, but when I saw the 2 photo, all the clues fit. Got it without cheating.
