Name that girl

I had to cheat and google the pic.

I don't really know who she is except for a couple movies she was in. I guess that's kind of strange...

Age 44, will be 45 in a month. Actor, Canadian by birth.

We'll liked by fans, on and off A-list actors lists past decade, "girl next door', very pretty, and she can actually "act". Comedies, drama-dies, rom-coms .. you wind up wanting to like her character to succeed at whatever the calamity is in the story arc.

She did do at least one serious piece - a gritty, troubled, hard-edged character -- on a HBO crime-drama mini series a few years ago. I thought she pulled it off credibly. Lotta F-bombs in the dialogue. Anyway, the role was far away from the sunnier stuff in most of her movies.

One of her most memorable big screen roles was set in high school -- she was a rather "mean" character, that most people who know her in real life said she could NOT have been further away from the baddie she playe in that particular role. I never saw this 2004 movie .. but my daughters know it by heart as it spoke to their generation more so than mine.

She was also in one of my favorite big screen movies of all time - also in 2004. "Chick flick" I got reluctantly dragged to that turned out to be one of my favorite movies of all time. This particular movie played out over the many years of the characters' lives. Poignant story, well acted, and highlights the power of love to rise over the infirmities of dementia.

I think this girl is easy. Still, could be you haven't seen any of the 30-40 things she's been in and that would make it difficult. Clues will lead you right to her I think.

She still looks younger than her years as she knocks on the door of 50. Still an attractive lady.

Pic below she's about 12 or so. She hasn't changed very much at all. I got her from the pic alone.

Nope. Another one that I have never heard of or seen anything she has been in.

#1,870 Rachael McAdams.

Breakout movie year in 2004 for her.

Mean Girls, ring leader of the high school clique that made life hell for other HS girls, and one of my favorite movies of all time, the Notebook - get your best gal and some Kleenex for that one.

HBO had a series called True Detective, an anthology series that was on about four seasons using different actors for each season. One of HBO's most successful productions.

I coulda picked a much better "girl" photo of her (lotta stuff out there in high school in Canada) but because she's still very recognizable knocking on 50, I didn't wanna make it too EZ.

One for the weekend. This one is intended to be harder.

If you're not a rock/R&B music fan, you are likely to really struggle. If you're like me and know her by face, then this one is a piece of cake.

Answer Monday night.

Age 64 (sixty four). Singer. Actor. Model. California girl. She was mentored by Mr. Nelson, from Chanhassen -- one of many such girls over the years.

Her biggest accomplishments -- the ones that got her the most viability in MUSIC and MOVIES - were related to getting purified in the wrong lake. She had some success at other things after that but NOT much.

She's best known for ONE particular movie, and for ONE particular song of the same name.

We was/is a strikingly beautiful lady and still looks good as a senior citizen. Find her mentor, through his colorful precipitation, and you will find her.

You are UN-likely to get her from her photo that is alleged to be her as a HS junior. roughly age 17 .. turns out she did NOT finish high school. Pic does look enough like her facially .. but the hair is all wrong.

So I added another pic that I am SURE is her in her mid-20's. Some of you will recognize her from that alone. If not, the clues are abstract but WILL lead right to her and pictures you can look up will confirm it for you.

If not, apparently there's room at the cave :poke:

I dunno if we've ever stumped her in seven years. Good thing ..we need the room in the cave.

I don't think we have.

She is on par with the group called "super recognizers" where they can remember faces much more than others. Her oldest son has the same talent.

I found Shannon Elizabeth with the clues, I knew Michelle Rodriguez from the clues and pic, Rachel McAdams was easy. This last woman took some digging, even my wife was stumped.

Got her, can't say I know her. Even though I lived in Mr. Nelsons stomping grounds, I never saw the movie.

1,888 may be proof that it takes MORE than a pretty face and being the "muse" of a mega-star to make it really big. To be sure, she got to levels fame/visibility that MILLIONS of girls never reach .. but was she HUGE. naw. never.

She was a looker though ... this is 1985. Our "girl" was memorable IF you did know of her 40 years ago. Man, time flies.

Anyway, confirmation tomorrow night.

I have one more girl tonight. Singer-songwriter. BIG. Her top 5 songs have nearly a BILLION you-tube views alone. Then I am done till spring 2024

:)

1,888. Apollonia Kotero (her real name).

If you didnt know her by face, you were definitely headed toward the cave. :poke:

If you didn't know that "Mr. Nelson from Chanhassen " was one Prince Rogers Nelson, and Paisley Park complex is in Chanhassen (Minneapolis) MN. all was lost .. best check in under the rock,:poke:

Apollonia was Prince's love interest in the movie Purple Rain. One of his biggest songs too .. video at bottom. I know Apollonia was on tour doing vocals - I saw him in Syracuse like 1985 and recall her doing backup vocals.

Prince "sponsored" several women - Vanity, Sheila E, Kim Basinger, Carmen Electra among them) then this girl. Dunno their real relationships but seems to be over in a year or two, and Prince moved on to another girl.
