I was at a show on the weekend and saw this car. I did not find the owner, and there was no indication of the powerplant. Any guesses as to what it is?

The one in the Mercury is, I think, SBC. The water pump gives it away. This one is Probably a 49-53 A-B-A Merc flatty.

Well, I'm gonna say that it's probably an early Chrysler Hemi, like a 354/392. Maybe a Chevy block with the heads added. It's not a 426 Chrysler Hemi or a Boss 429. I also believe that the block is too big (wide) to be a Flathead Ford.
