Need some input on pricing a truck bed

I agree wit the others...a good scrub and clean, and even a wax wouldn't hurt. If you can replace the broken taillight that would help too. But I think $500-$600 tops for it.

I have sold a couple 81-93 Ram box's, and I think the most I got for one was $300. One was rust free 84 box from texas, but had been used as a work box....floor warped and some cracking at seams....Think I got $250 for that one. The other was a decent 93 box, little rust starting over one wheel arch...I got $300 for that one.

Like Stan offered....If you clean it up and post it up for your original asking price on craigslist, I could put a link for it on the cummins diesel forums I frequent. Those guys might bite a little harder?

It would be on ebay for 7,500 bin only one in existence. Mitchell motors exclusive.

One of Franks, (rest in peace), normal responses when an offer was made for some way overpriced part was...."This part will be relisted for more money soon".
I guess everyone jumped on the "bargain price" right away then.

He responded to several reasonable offers I made that way.

Thanks guys. I did that Sunday and it started raining. Unfortunately I don't have electricity or water where it's stored but if I still have it in warmer weather I'll borrow my buddy's power washer and give it a blast and maybe give him a case of beer and some wax :).

I did advertise all the truck body stuff over on fortrucksonly and like patrick says it's a ghost town .. I hung around awhile and check in once in a while now but tumbleweeds

I'll give the sweptline site a checkout Alan but I don't see a for sale forum there but I didn't register there yet. Do they have one once you log in?

I think I'm gonna check out replacement panel prices to get an idea what those cost, factor in body work cost and lay it out. This one doesn't need hardly any body work. Just the one area that has a bend that my body guy fried says is extremely minimal work.

The guy that was interested said he's got a bunch of tail lights which probably don't go for much compared to other tail lights I've searched for. I don't have a tail gate unfortunately

A couple of farily serious guys that did check with me on the ad and previous ad both told me "I've been searching every where for a 72-80 short bed and you just can't find those years unless they are roached" and "btw I'll only go $500" so dontknow.gif

Yes, they have 2, one for member stuff, the other for CL and ebay finds.

Bring it to Carlisle on Thursday and get a piece of cardboard and write with a black marker "rare survivor" first $2500 takes it home....call my cell 414-555-1234 and then go drink St. Paulie's with Jer until the cell phone rings.
