For just about a year,I have been a consultant for a die-cast collector / retailer and a manufacturer on the development of a very highly detailed 1:43 scale of the 1968 Chrysler 300 coupe. I have supplied information, history, photographs, and specific measurements to them. I have also been afforded the opportunity to critique the cad drawings and the latest prototype to further refine accuracy. The final product should be available sometime in May.
I was VERY excited to find that one of the four colors being offered is DD1 Sky Blue Metallic!!

How awsome is that! I will have to have a burgundy one. Very cool that one in your blue 300 is also a choice! Quite an honor for you to be a part of this creation!

Wow! This is awesome. I have a dealer promo model, but would love one of these.

Any chance they are making a convertible? Rumor has it you also have an equally impressive convertible in your stable?

Regarding the hood ornament, was that an option in ‘68 instead of standard? My ‘68 convertible nor a friend who has one about 20 miles from me has a hood ornament on our convertibles.

I am not a model car guy…. About how big would a 1/43 model of this 300 be? (Lengthwise?)

I think I am envisioning this model to be bigger than it actually is (will be).

I'm part of the generation that started with Matchbox, then HotWheels, then Aurora T-Jet slot cars, with MANY Jo-Han, Monogram, AMT/MPC model cars (mostly in 1/24 scale) along the way, then, finally..... onto real cars, but I maintain a soft spot for these. I THINK that between 5-6 inches long would be the approximate size.

This IS a pretty nice model though.

Although not even an option in 68 (Naders Raiders safety crusade) many owners like myself have added the 67 hood ornament to their 68s
I have offered to contribute to a convertible project if needed- that would probably depend on the success of the coupe. They have done covertible versions of their other models previously.
