As far as I got it John is keeping the blue 69 Imperial.
He was willing to give the golden 70 Coupe to someone who simply transported the blue 69 from the charles Key auction place to his home.

That was a good offer even though it was a non runner at the time.

I don't see a big flip. How much is shipping from the northern west coast to the east cost? 1k ?
Deduct that from the 2500$ he is asking, see that he got it running, bought the car itself (don't know the price) and he was maybe even there when he purchased it.
