Just bought this beautiful, 51k, very original '67 Monaco 383 2bbl. I'm on a budget and only doing what's needed. Lucky for me the previous owner did a lot to make it roadworthy. Still getting used to driving it...I've owned a '67 Fury in the past but the Monaco feels bigger. Thanks for having me here...I've been lurking for awhile but now I actually own a c-body. More pics soon.

:sSig_welcometoourcl. Since you have been lurking you already know all about our dysfunctional family :mob: and you still chose to join. You may not complain about it.

Nice car, also a fan of the bronze... My dad had a '68 Monaco hard top that came close to being my first car before I got my '68 300.

Thank you for the very warm and nice welcome! Some witty car guys here, I noticed that before. I'm having fun driving around. Last night it wouldn't start, put a new battery in it today (I know, I know, figure out the problem before throwing parts at it) and it started right up, ran some errands, came home, and now it won't start again. No click or anything. Not unexpected in a 45 year old car. The battery connection, cables and ends are good so I'll trouble shoot it tomorrow.

You're lucky it didn't catch fire if it drained a brand new battery that quickly.

The battery isn't drained, I should have been clearer, the starter isn't getting current. Thanks for mentioning fire though, I'm going now to disconnect the battery cable for safety's sake.

Check the starter relay on the fender right behind the battery... The neutral safety switch also comes to mind, it connects to one of the spade ends on the corner of your relay.

Just to let you guys know, I replaced the brake booster myself and the car ran great. But last Wednesday on the highway, the car overheated possibly due to crud in the oil pickup, and developed a knock. I shut the car down immediately and had it towed to the shop. With moving out of state next month, rather than get involved in a possible costly and lengthy repair, I sold the car to a very happy new owner, who has the time and space to take care of it. I miss it but at least I got to own a cool c-body that I always wanted.
