Hello,
Picked up this 1966 300 a few months back from a dealership in South Dakota. It is in good shape and only needs a few things (sail panels, wind lace, carpet, engine detailed). I have a 66 dart that I have had for a few years and places like this forum can be valuable when working on the old Mopars that are not the commonly restored models. This is my first c-body, have wanted a full size hardtop four door for several years now, I remember them from the used car lot that Grandpa and Dad had when I was young. Always liked how big they were and thought the dashes and looks of the old Chrysler's were the best.
The story on how this car came into our family I think is kind of neat, so I will share it. My ten year old was not doing well with me being deployed and I came up with this idea on a father son trip we could do when I returned. In the evenings I would go to the USO and find different cars that I liked and email them to him. About a month before I came home I told him he could pick out the car from the ones I sent him and if was still there just me and him would road trip it back. He picked out this 300. We got two bus tickets, brought a tool kit and set off. I let him pick all the stops on the way back home and it was a great experience for me and him. The car ran perfect and drove great the whole way back home. Here are some photos from the dealership and one with my son the first night we had the car.
Take care and look forward to finishing this car. Plan on keeping it original as possible.
