Hi all! Thanks for adding me. I have a chance to get this car for $13K. Whats your feelings on price? I have looked high and low and dont see one this clean for low teens. Cant see frame, I am told its clean and its believed to have been a frame off resto. Its had a 4 speed dropped it, doesnt bother me thats its not all original. Not trying to win shows. Want a good driver for warm summer months and store in the winter. Please HELP!!:sSig_noob:

Wild guess based on the trunk floor and the Texas plates, the underside should be pretty darn clean. Price looks to be reasonable.

Not necessarily...

But even with this rust, the frame is rock solid. :)

Oh yeah, the convertible part of it means the floors are more susceptible, for some reason I glossed right over that.

Looks really nice, offer 10K.
Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Welcome! A few thoughts which have been discussed here in the past, first, '65 has a lot of one year only parts; the posting is a month old are you sure it's still available; and finally, posting the link here before the deal is set will surely bring out the lurkers and it could be gone in 60 seconds. Other than that, if it's what you want and in the price range of what you are willing to pay then it is worth every penny.

Car paperwork checks out. He bought it from dealer at Carlisle PA show. Texas plate was something he tossed on to buzz around town a bit. Always in New England near as I can tell. Think he paid 12,900. Offered the 10K and he said no way. He wanted 13,900 and came down to 13K.

Is it a bad sign, when you drive 3-1/2 hours, with green cash, get to the car and the owner wont LET YOU TEST DRIVE IT? THe car is not registered or insured, yet he says HE can only drive it. I on the other hand, have a dealer plate with me, and that plate automatically makes car COVERED while we are driving it around. So he takes me for 1 lap around a block at 20MPH. Sheeezzz. Idiots. Buts it worth top dollar. BTW its a 10 FT paint job (he says how much he loves the paint and I am picky). Looks like someone spent about 1 day total sanding and prepping, and never got finer then 80 grit. Pics looked fine. Once you get closer then 10 Ft watchout.

Welcome aboard. Buying something from an idiot seller can be frustrating but may be worth the effort. Not clear after your last post if you are still negotiating or have given up. The ad is down so can we assume you have it? If you've taken a screw driver to the frame and an magnet to the body and it checks out go for it. My .02.
