New guy with 66 Chrysler town and country

Howdy, just got a nice 66 t&c to pull my vintage travel trailers, just wanted to join up to see and share info, thanks.

Welcome to the board from another T/C long roof owner. Post up some pics of your new pride and joy...the natives get restless when you tease them with info about your car, and no pics to back it up....;) :D

This one? Nice score! Welcome to the forum!

Yes, Welcome to the Forum. I see you live in Santa Cruz, I live is SF. We can hook up some weekend. I have a '66TC also - same color as yours, but mines a 383 (jealous!!).

That's the one!, I never have bought anything without driving or inspection, but I think after I'm done setting it up it will be perfect for towing my vintage travel trailers around.

Thanks everybody, here's my mods to do list, tandem master, 7 and 8" rally's, front discs and fab up trailer hitch and controller, Large trans cooler, I am sure I'll find more, can't wait to get started.

Hello from Minnesota! Another car/truck leaves the state, aaagggghhhh! Just kidding. Nice score. Dual master is an easy safety upgrade and that car should swallow those wheels pretty easy, just make sure you get your backspace correct. Plenty of help to find here.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Thanks guys, from what I have read so far it looks like sevens and eights in 15" need about 4/1/4" BS on the fronts and 5" BS on the rear, does that sound correct?

I'm running 15x7 cop rims on my wagon with no issues what so ever. So whatever the factory back spacing is on these rims works fine for a 68 T/C wagon.

I also have a vintage travel trailer and am in process of outfitting it and my 69 Fury Custom Suburban for tow duty.
I fabed up, (modified) a class III hitch to fit out 69 300 convertible last year and towed a pop up camper over 6K miles. I designed the hitch to bolt to the car without drilling any extra holes and can install it in 20 minutes and remove it in 10 minutes with no trace it was there.
To my delight I found the hitch also fit my 69 Suburban with no modifications. Maiden voyage is scheduled for the Garlits Mopar show the first week of November.

You can pit stop and set up the trailer in Stan's driveway....

I didn't check backspace before I slapped my rims on. I have 14's though, 7" in front and 8" in back. I had concerns about sidewall clearance, the rims fit fine but the bulge of the tire is my only issue, rubs on the fender while turning to the right. The tire guy commented that I have the biggest tire on the smallest rim that he felt safe installing. I did good with what I had! I plan on the same width in 15" when these tires are shot.
