New guy with 66 Chrysler town and country

I didn't check backspace before I slapped my rims on. I have 14's though, 7" in front and 8" in back. I had concerns about sidewall clearance, the rims fit fine but the bulge of the tire is my only issue, rubs on the fender while turning to the right. The tire guy commented that I have the biggest tire on the smallest rim that he felt safe installing. I did good with what I had! I plan on the same width in 15" when these tires are shot.

What is the width of your tires?

Very nice wagon. I am doing the same thing, over the hill in San Jose. Got a 1965 New Yorker to pull my 1964 Airstream. Let me know when you get to the trailer hitch fab.

thanks,
Carl K.

Hey thanks, I will be fish plating and boxing in the frame to have adequate strength to bolt down a full size hitch, my boles aero weighs in at 5000 lbs so I really want to over build this thing, I will post pics but I have two trailer rally's in the next 2 weekends so I won't have anytime soon.

Any updates on your wagon?

Is this yours?

1966 Chrysler Classic mopar station wagon

I'm curious how it worked for you as a tow vehicle. It looks like you did all the hard work.
