After a few months of persistence, I've just received this sample of roof rail weatherstripping in the mail, from Jeff at: Restoration Specialties & Supply, Inc.

This is better than the sample they sent me two months ago. This appears to be a match to:
-The original weatherstripping that seals the windows where they meet:
-The roof-line, the
-A-pillar & the
-C-pillar on formal 4-door hardtops.

It's not a perfect match in the regards that it doesn't have the transitions that the original has, but that's not where most serious air leaks emanate.
IE: It doesn't match the factory-molded transition to the flatter weatherstripping that seals the doors, below the windows. This new product seals the windows, not the doors. The factory original is one, long piece that seals both. Unfortunately, that's not available anywhere.
However, this new stuff wasn't available anywhere either, but things are definitely looking up!.

They enclosed a note asking me to call for details. I'll call Monday and will let you know.

I don't know if this fits 2-doors, as I never had one, but it may.

I've just contacted the vendor, who states that he's having this weatherstripping manufactured. It should be available for sale in 3-4 weeks, at about $3.50/foot.
Looking at my 1977 NYB 4-door hardtop, it seems to be an exact match with the roof rail weatherstripping at the top of both side windows, and the front of the front windows (A-pillars). It does not match the flatter section at the rear of the rear windows (C-pillar), but it may work there too. I just don't know.

It should resolve the most serious issues on the doors used most often, for all 1974-1978 4-door hardtops, and possibly on the 2 doors. He seems to refer to it as 75ROOFRAIL for now. He created it from someone's 75 NYB sample.

He told me that he has thousand of dollars invested in creating this, which concurs with what I've read in other posts here.
-Glad that we will soon have a product to resolve the most serious issues. Finally something less than 40 years old, with no need to visit Home Depot for a solution.

Have you tried Steele Weather Stripping they have everything for my '65 Polara and no one has some of the stuff they have. Like wing window seals for instance. They are on the expensive side but I have used them for many years when I used to work for a hot rod shop that's all we used. If they don't have it and you send them your old weather stripping they will make it exactly like the original.

It appears that some are not using the link, provided above, in the message that I posted on November 7th. This is a quick summary of my posts there:

"I've just received a call from Kim at Restoration Specialties. They have this weatherstripping in stock now. It should fit on the A-pillar and over the windows.

Their part# is: 75roofrail
It's not posted on their website yet.
Restoration Specialties and Supply, Inc."

"When I compared this stuff to my car, it appeared to fit both sides of the car, to seal the A pillar area, and the area above the windows, which are the areas most likely to leak. It looked like an exact match in those areas. "

So, what's the deal with these nowadays? I did some digging and found the "75Roofrail" from the catalog for $4,80/foot. I assume that they are still availabe.

Has anyone installed these and is the fitment good?

The seals on my car are still bad after 8 years of ownership and I thought that maybe it's time to do something about that. Especially now that the right side window has started to whine a little while cruising down the interstate doing 100...in kilometers.:steering:

The sample they sent me fit fine, and I was going to buy it in 2019. Just for the heck of it, I got to fiddling with the window adjustment, and that fixed the wind noise! I haven't needed it since, although I don't drive the car much and it's very well maintained.
