I had a '62 New Yorker for a number of years. Same thing; it was referred to as a C, but technically it was not.

Your car look great! I saw a K once with the factory 4-speed. Was sweet!! But then the owner told me he tossed the 413 for a 383. WHY????

Yeah it blows and operates like normal. But not very cold I think it needs a charge(just so dang hard to find r12)

You can get (and use) R12a online. Much cheaper to get than CFC-R12.

No sweat, that's what I'm using now to find the leak in my 68. It doesn't deplete the ozone (CFC free) and it requires less. Be sure to read the notes, 6oz of R12a = 17oz of CFC-R12. So if your total system capacity is 3lbs of CFC-R12, that's essentially 18oz of R12a.
