I've been looking for a clean 65' for a good while. I found this 2 owner all original right in my backyard. 105,000 miles. Runs really good and rides nice. In dire need of shocks. I posted pictures of the documents that came with the car. Thanks.

Good looking car.
same color interior as as mine, I'm jealous of that steering wheel, mine fell to pieces.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
So far I've removed, cleaned all the exterior lights and replaced the bulbs. I upgraded the headlights to Koito housings and h4 bulbs. I built a hotwire kit to eliminate the factory wiring. This made a huge difference in the lighting. I also had to replace the turn signal switch and I'm disappointed in the quality of the replacement. I'm going to try and repair the original if possible.
I have a core poly engine to rebuild as well as a 727 transmission. I've had the rocker shafts and rockers redone by rocker arms unlimited.

I've looked at headlights from time to time and I'm confused if the "correct" size is listed as 5.5 inches or 5.75 inches (5 3/4). So are there round lamps (or lamp housing) that actually measure 5.5 inches and others that measure 5.75 inches? (I have an original GE 4000 in box and as best I can measure it's 5.5 inches total outer diameter).

I also thought that H1 and H4 specified the 5.x and 7 inch lamps but now I realize H1 / H4 specifiy high-beam and low-beam (2 filament) bulbs.

Does "Hella" and "E-code" mean the same thing" A lens with a sharper vertical cut-off?

When searching for an E-code 5.5 (or 5.75?) round housing, what exact codes do I punch into a search engine so that rectangular or 7 inch lamps don't show up?

Hella is a manufacturer of lighting products they do make e code housings.
There are two places I've bought e code housings/bulbs, rallylights.com and Daniel Stern. I bought the koito's from Daniel. Daniel Stern has some really good information on his site regarding lighting and the quality of different manufacturers .. well worth a read.

I see nothing on Stern's site that mentions what I see as a conflict in the round bulb sizing of what I measure the original bulbs to be 5.5 inches vs what seem to be specified today as 5.75 inches. Do you have an over-all diameter measurement of your Koito housing, and do they fit correctly in the stock mopar dish with retainer ring without modification? Did you buy the ECE or the JIS version? I assume the ECE version is the "e-code" type (sharp vertical cut-off) and the JIS version is not "e-code".

Once you buy the housing, you can install any bulb you want? Halogen, LED, etc? But the housing (ie - the front lens) will determine the beam pattern, not the bulb?

I had to trim one of the mounts a little to fit the new housings I believe it was the low beam.
You can use any H1/H4 bulbs afaik.
I would email Dan and ask your questions he's very responsive and can answer all your questions.
