Well I finally got to installing my new Seat Belts last night after inspecting the vibration in the front end.

Luckily the previous restorer had presence of mind to install the old bolts to keep the crap out of the anchor points :)

It made doing the rear seats much easier to install.
The new belts came with new anchor bolts as well which was a bonus!

I still have to tackle the front belts tonight..

The only thing I wish these belts had is the original Canadian Crinkle finish on the release handles of the buckles the US models never got that treatment..

Where did you get them? I see you put in center belts. Were the new mounting bolts adequately long to put double belts on the inside anchor points?

I'd like to add center belts to my Imperial so I can put the baby seat in the middle, and still get two adults in on either side.

The new bolts were long enough but do not allow for any swiveling like the original bolts did.
The factory bolts made allowances for the center belts

I bought the belts from http://www.seatbeltsplus.com/?gclid=CP_NzsTy6r8CFWELMgodCiwANw

Good service. in fact I had not ordered the center belt andthey accidentally shipped the extra belt . I contacted them about this and they told me to keep it as a gift for their mistake.

I had done the research with them because they dont advertise for the Polara C body but they looked them up and said they could get them.

I think is was $200 plus shipping..for the set.

They also had a very good colour selection.

Looks good, I want to say that the US cars had the painted buckles starting in 68, I know 69 for sure had them, 67 not.

Well I'm not 100% sure my Polara came factory that way but it had them .
Too bad I didn't know this. I could have ordered a newer year version possibly..

Do you have pictures of how the seat belts go from the anchors on the driveshaft tunnel thru/under the front seats? Mine seem to be weird, and I'd like to see another installation.

They just slide through the bench and then have a slight twist. I'll try to get some photos and post them shortly.

I had hope that the fronts would have a nice cover for the floor mount but they seem not.

You may have the outboard end mounted backwards, I'll look at my Barracuda later to see.

If I recal the plastic is cut away around the mounting point on one side, that is the side the bolt head is on.

I flipped the belts around and they do look to be better orientated. Thanks Alan for pointing this out.

The release buckle is always on the right.
Clip on the left.
Right handed people outweighed the left thanded.
Sorry.

Just like scissors.

? Mine are mirrored, front and rear. Same with my Barracuda, truck...

What we're refering to was the outboard portion with the retractor coil up spring that is on the outboard was bolted down backwards, the bubble that carries the rolled up belt goes to the inboard side.

This design change in 69 on the C-Body, not sure what happened in 74 or later.

Do you mean this part of the front belts?
