My first thought, too! These cars are NOT helped, visually, with jacked-up rear ends; they already show-off enough of their "under-butts" as it is .

I disagree, but it's a personal taste. I love a rake on a car, always have and always will. I saw too many of them growing up in the early 80's, and it stuck with me.

I don't like these air cleaners. All they do is suck in hot underhood air when the car is moving. The higher the air temperature the less dense oxygen is.

Be interesting to see how much cooler a snorkel air cleaner assembly is than the open. I use an open element in my Polara, and although it may not be the best, it's presented no issues that I notice. Maybe it worked so well because of the gaps with my universal radiator, which still cooled efficiently.

I can tell you that at 70F there is 1.46gr/lt. of O2 vs. at 200F it is about 1.04-05/gr/lt. A fair difference in O2 molecules available to burn. I just removed the lifetime air filter in my 2004 Focus. The foam was 4 1/2 inches thick and fairly dirty. I installed a new box with replaceable filter. Also the opening the intake opening didn't have a rubber umbrella over it like the OEM. Next day, when on the freeway to accelerate, I was quite surprised at how quick the engine responded at 3000 rpm vs. before. It was like March 2004 all over again. The restriction equaled less O2 per liter vs. the new box.
