I don't have brake lights when I step on the brake pedal. I have turn signals and parking lights. I checked the fuses and they are good. There is only one wire to the brake switch and looks like it works off a negative ground type setup? I think it works when you press the brake pedal, it completes the ground, but not sure. Can anyone tell me how to test for this to get them working again?
Thank you,

John....

Should be two wires. When you step on the peddle the spring loaded switch completes the circuit and your brake lites go on. climb under your dash and make sure it hasn't come loose. 'Bout the only other thing iz that you may have lost ground to one or both of your tail lites. Turn signalz got nothing to do with brake litez. those are 1157 bulbs in there and their are three wires going to those bulbs

Thank you. Hmmm, strange! There is only one wire going to the switch that I can see,.but I will check again as I probably missed it. I bet the ground wire fell off.

The tail light bulbs share a common ground in the socket so if anything works it can't be the ground.
Theres a feed wire to the brake light switch that is always hot.... not fused. I think it comes out of the turn signal switch connector. And a second wire to the brake lights. A test light will quickly tell you if ...1. there is power to the switch.... 2nd. if the switch sends a signal to the bulbs when activated... If no signal it's the switch.. or a misadjusted switch.

If no power to the switch then likely the falt is in the turn signal switch.

Ok, I found the wiring diagram for my car. The Internet is a wonderful thing. Ends up I couldn't find two pink wires going into a connector that is the hot wire to the brake switch. It was tucked up under the dashboard. The single white wire is the wire that goes to the rear stop lights. I have power at the pink wires. I connected both wires together (pinks and white) and bingo,.i have brake lights! Thank you for your help.
