FaceBook marketplace add for a pair of Chrysler FirePower valve covers. I had a wall art project in mind. Individual is in Wisconsin, wouldn't ship or do PayPal (not a big deal). Then, thinking it doesn't hurt to ask for a lower price, I get this. I'm thinking....did I go over the line????

I say no and he's just being a dick. That being said, have someone you know make an offer for them and then they can give them to you.

I wonder what his reaction would've been if you left the "I'm cheap" part out? What a dickfore!

Dick.
The gentleman's approach would have been..
"Must be seen to be appreciated! I have other interesting items as well.
Come take a look and make an offer in person..
Lowball offers will be ignored.."

Tell him you'd do the $100 if he delivers locally. Send him the address to a Gay bar.

What a bellend. Ask if he'll trade the valve covers for a '78 NYB w/ 400 miles and send them Richard's number.

If you want them and are willing to pay the $40.00, have your sisters husband or friend call and buy them, then go pick them up. No sense pissin and moanin about it.
There's more than one way around an a** hole.

On the other hand, have you folks run any ads lately?

Most of what you get is low ballers making offers without asking any questions. It gets frustrating selling. At least they don’t waste any of your time asking questions and then low balling, its their only communication. I Don’t answer them.

Thanks for the good advice, Dad:lol:
(Just what my Father would have told me)

What person advertising something expects to get their full asking price without getting a lower offer first and would they not make an offer before paying full price? I see a lot of disappointment in their future.

I was just thinking the same thing. I would volunteer but you would have to wait until I croaked then you would get them:rofl:

People are screwy.

I've had this happen a couple times now. The part will be marked "$xx or best offer" and to me, that is an invitation to dicker. I'll make a reasonable offer, and the guy will say "Nope, I gotta get the price marked on the part". I'll come back with "Then you shouldn't have written best offer". So far, it has worked... They have no comeback, and it kind of shames them into selling it.
