I wonder how much money was put into this car.Must have been a small fortune .Makes me wonder what it looked like before it was refurbished .I find this car interesting but approach it with caution. Many unanswered questions .I would spray over the red inserts on the road wheels to argent silver .I never liked wheels with the same body color on them .Overall an interesting car.Wonder what it will go for. I do like the fact it has a sunroof.A plus for me

That’s a nice looking car, interesting color. Fender tag is special order. I wonder what the colors called.

Let's go straight for the details...

I know I laugh at some of these repair bills we see on the 'net $200 for a carb kit?

Johnnys.Repair.Bill.001.jpg

Other charges... oh well it is in California...

Transmission Flush: $277.73, $18.76 Gasket

Oil Pan gasket set: $26.91

$356.50 labor for passenger door window repair. I don't see anywhere on the number/quantity of hours spent on all these jobs on any of the invoices but their labor rate has to be well over $100 an hour.

This picture should answer your question... Fire Engine Red!

I know years ago a friend of mine bought a new Ford F250 that was Fire Engine Red and he was quite proud of the truck, I only asked him when I first saw the truck "What did the Fire Chief in your city cancel his truck order"?

My local garage quoted my wife $500.00 to change plugs and wires on a 2005 Buick V6. We dropped them from doing any work.

This car may have been here before, see this thread. It had 25k miles on the odometer back then. Somewhere in the text it says: "This New Yorker was also ordered with special Red exterior paint".

the only difference I see is the pin striping and the interior - cloth on the former vs vinyl or leather on the latter.

If that is the same car I like the cloth interior better. Also see how much nicer the wheels look without the red inserts .They should have left it alone.

Those differences may have been introduced on the present owner's watch. The BAT text goes:

"The seller acquired the vehicle in 2021, and subsequent work involved reupholstering the interior, performing paintwork, applying accent striping..."

nice nice car, but please nitpick it to death as usual
Okay!

74/75 Imperial side markers on an NYB...I can understand why...because they are among the most pretty marker lights ever made, but it's just so "off"...

75-77 Grille on a 78, but they didn't go the extra mile of swapping the bumper vent inserts. Again looks "off".

ROGER THAT! (ditto)

Brake pedal tells all, notice the BaT disclaimer in text of auction that total milage is 'unknown'
ROACHED.002.jpg

Jack base looks to have never been on ground, a positive thing or... well so much has been done to this car I would say 'suss'.
ROACHED.003.jpg

Very roached jack instructions for a 24k car, gotta love the Hi-Res BaT picture thou...
ROACHED.004.jpg

I found out what the little phone do-dad on the dash is for, question is why would someone go to all the trouble to have "PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION RECOMMENDED" of this item just for owning and driving the car for what a thousand or so miles?

And going through the invoices/bills again, seems to be a constant problem with the electric windows which much money was spent and maybe that's why the owner threw in the towel and it's on the market (again).

Hmmmm.... Haven't we seen other cars from this dealer collection? Seem to remember we did.

That's it, I'm out. Only shopping at Gateway Classics from now on. Humph.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the "gangsta" tint? On a black car, it can look good, but on something as colourful as this, it looks odd to me... very JC Whitney, which is very much not in keeping with the rest of the car.

I agree with the previous comment about the red in the wheels, too; I sometimes like colour-coded wheels or wheel covers, but not in this case... it looks a bit clownish.
