Well I'm a soon to be owner of a 66 Newport. Needs some love and I hope with people here I can do it. It has all the moldings (some are in that massive trunk)and the undercarriage is great looking. The floor and truck pans are in great shape. Just a few rot holes (LF fender behind wheel and RR quarter near the rear window)

I'm sure I'll be asking a bunch of questions. I'm pretty excited about owning this car

First things to do on it is work on the rust and rot areas. Try and find a front disk setup. Replace the carb and intake and find some good tire opinions (steel rim with a chrome ring )

Just want to get her up to snuff, stopping and running strong is a good start lol


I might try my hand at plasti dipping it after I take care of the rust issues. I like the fact it kinda preserves it so down the road if I want to get a professional paint job done it can just peel off. Flat black or flat gunmetal gray

Welcome from . I have 2 '66 300's of which one is the Canadian version which is really a Newport like yours with a 300 front clip. You will want to think about changing the rear wheel studs on the driver's side to match a disc brake conversion's LH threads. Always screws up the Tire guys when one wheel won't come off....

Well I did get her this Saturday! Spent Sunday cleaning lol.

Needs some rust/rot issues taken care of and the brakes definitely done lol.

A few where to get parts questions

The chrome molding body clips, where can I get them ?

And I'm looking for a right rear (blue) inner door panel. Actually I need all panels but I'm missing that one lol


Also I was very happy to find the original build sheet

I would like to use it as a daily driver (of course not winter though lol)
