I am the grandson of a railroad engineer, and the "Big Boy" is almost like a member of our family. People (like me) travel from F-A-R away to see that since it was re-activated. Count yourself lucky you got to see it without having to. THANKS for this nice video. Steam engines, and especially this one; are like living, breathing beings, it is awesome (and I don't use that word much) to be around them.

My wife has been making pretty good fun of me lately... I'm a steam turbine-generator engineer at a powerplant, so anything steam powered gets my attention. This was such a neat experience.

Gore, OK on 11/16/19. My oldest son and I drove 130 miles to get a cool traingasm! This was as the train left the town of 900. I'd bet money there were 2,500 people there. Several were following the train all the way to Coffeyville, KS; the final stop of the day.

I had the pleasure of watching it leave Union Station earlier this week. And on Sunday it went thru about 3 or 4 miles from our house so we are definitely spoiled. Might be the neatest thing on wheels but that is just my opinion of course.

You got to see it at Union Station?! That's awesome... We went and saw it downtown the night before, but it was dark. Kind of made it look like a ghost train.

They had just pulled fire from it when we showed up, so even from 20ft away you could feel the heat radiating from it.
