It`s not only the depth, but also the shine and this one looks like it`s from a wax ad.

This is my car fellas and here's the story.....

I bought this car earlier in the year for one purpose and that was a yearly cruise we affectionately call the Rapid Transit Tour. It's generally a ten day trip, all Mopars (25-30 cars typically) and covers 2000+ miles and much more for the west coasties.

As Jeff noted, the previous owner had spent a boatload of $$ having this car stripped to bare steel, small rust repairs made, repaint, new vinyl, chrome etc, you get the picture. What they did not do however, was much in the mechanical upgrade department. As I planned to drive this car on tour, I wanted a road car with more modern manners. I revamped the complete suspension with FirmFeel T-bars, stage II box, UCA,s, new leafs, Bilstein shocks on and on it goes (read:$$$).

Anyway, long distance driving was the motivation for the bigger meats, Tuff wheel etc. Now I realize some of the changes are not to everyones taste, but I have all of the original parts and everything is easily reversible should the next caretaker choose to do so.

In regards to where it's at - This place is rather interesting as it's an old shopping mall that the current owner bought to house his 400+ auto collection. They opened it up to the public as a sort of museum and hit on the idea of taking cars on consignment as a way of refreshing the inventory. I'm not especially fond of the ad itself and of course, the previously perfectly working headlight door chose the day of the photo shoot to stick is something I would like to address with them. Otherwise, it's there for three months and I'll play it by ear after that.

Thanks for listening,
Pete

:thankyou: ....

Well, that is one sweet car! Sorry I missed you at the Nats. I drooled over it with my grandson. We brought my 69 300 down, so it wss nice to see another one there!

Sorry I missed you as well. I never made it back there on Saturday, sat in the hotel all day, looking out the window at the rain.

We went from the Nats in Columbus, up to the Auburn Museum in Indiana and then over to Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise. In fact, the car is supposed to be in the next issue of Mopar Collectors Guide covering the tour.

Holy **** Pete. You did one helluva job with that car!

Thanks Mario !

I forgot to mention - we stopped in Jegs on Sunday as was given a guided tour of the warehouse and race shop by the man himself. One of our resident miscreants asked Jeg Jr. if she could do a burnout on the way out and he said " I expect everyone to do a burnout on the way out."

We did.

Was the problem that the headlight covers did not go all the way down? if so, would you share some tips?

When I first bought the car, the left door was a little sticky. Some Power Lube at the pivot point and all was good. Judging by the photo, it's time for another shot.

In my eyes that P23 is in fact P28, which would mean power left and right front seat.

yes you´re right. I´ve been looking on all the regestries and it doesn´t seem that P23 ever existed

Is this same car that was discussed here some time ago? That one had black headrests, and black door pulls, and it was critisized quite a bit for those, even though it looked very, very nice otherwise.

Yes, the Oreo look has since been abolished.
