The right side mirror on most of those cars was worthless.

I added one to my '65 Barracuda, knowing that it wouldn't be worth a lot in traffic, but might be good for me (I have neck issues) when backing in and out of my driveway. It's not much good for that either.

Eight years ago I bought the 65 Chrysler. My first classic car. The first things that had to be learned again were enough distance to the car in front of me and the shoulder look left and right (luckily I have no issues with my neck yet). The tiny mirrors are really dangerous. You have to be constantly attentive and keep an eye on the traffic around you. When I turned my head a little too late, I almost shot a biker off the track, it was really close.
My advice: don't trust the mirrors ;)

I didn’t like them either until I had one. After looking at it for a while I thought it reminded me of a smaller version of a road runner.

Prefer the fast top also, so I passed on a 69 383 4 speed sedan model with 45K miles, rust free running and driving, gold, back about 1990.

And over left shoulder before changing lanes. Never trust mirrors only.

Worst car for this I ever drove was a 73 Gran Torino Sport.

Agree but looks good and helps some for curbs if adjusted to see them.
 
I preferred the fastback over the notchback and both better than the ragtop. The uptop just looked odd on that body.
Dad had two notchbacks. A 67 slant six with air that was a dog and a 69 318 that was quite quick for it’s day.
The 67 Plymouth A body front end was another of Dad’s projects. Would explain why we had the 2 Barracudas and 2 Signets of that generation.

Wow.

I still don't think that justifies the $98K asking price on the car that started this thread.

I would expect the price to be at a premium because it was a real nice example of a Formula S 340 Mod Top and coming from Juliano's collection, but that just floors me that the car went for that much.
 
And the legendary car after the modtop is going for less??????
