Automatic
318 V8 engine, 4 door hardtop

Will need to be towed. The engine needs to be overhauled.

"The Boat" has been an excellent project car for over 5 years and I'm very sad to see it go. By far one of the safest steel traps on the road weighing in at 3,820 lbs, this classic is sure to be missed.

Interior color appears to have been altered. Tan dash with black seats? With a dead engine this car is way overpriced.

Car looks clean and straight and it's definitely worth fixing or replacing the engine.
I'm going to guess that the dash and steering column are original and the seats and door panels have been replaced or vinyl dyed black.Maybe that was the "project" part the seller refers to.
Interesting to see what the data tag has to say.

Betting the front valance is pretty wonky judging by the bowed out fender. “Looks” decent, but that price is higher than eagle genitalia!

Years ago there were several companies that did spray on vinyl tops, they even glued on fake seams. The spray stuff would usually last about long enough to sell the car.

This car used to live in Chico, CA for a few years probably owned by a college kid. Never got to chat with him unfortunately. I remember taking some photos/video of it several years ago but deleted them at some point. I can confirm the roof was sprayed on and looked plastic. I remember it got into a minor accident at one point and had damage on the front passenger side (or driver side, I can't remember) but it looks like it has since been fixed. Nothing too severe. I'm 99% sure it's the same car because of the weird Japanese style aftermarket mirror on the fender, the sprayed on roof, and the color combo is the same.

Maybe he had a couple of cans of fuzzy bike spray left over from doing his motorcycle.
Remember the Fuzzy Bike Fad?

bruh..thank god I was like 3 in 2005 so I missed this whole thing or well don't remember it...why did they think putting that cloth around a hot engine and exhaust was a good idea...

It's back on CL - 1971 Plymouth Fury III 4dr Hardtop - $7,500

Yea a bunch of mismatched photos, wonder what it really looks like today? Again no engine bay pics.
Looks like whatever was done to the roof is already failing. Also imagine having to look at that roached dash even for just a short drive across town to the filling station?

With the roached out dash, spray on vinyl top and batman insignia on the hood, I'LL bet this car was a real chick magnet, not.
