Too bad Chrysler felt they had to phase-in to the formal look ahead of time - they went from one of the best looking front ends ever on a 1972 Fury and then make this homely front end for 1973 shown in the listing.

The 72:

Loved the 1 year only '72 front end. They probably got rid of it because they had nowhere to mount those stupid rubber tits!

P.S. I've seen a few with those appendages removed, huge improvement but still nothing like the '72.

Agree, I do prefer the 73 rear end though, the big reverse light in the center.

That's north of me. Just a touch far to make for a casual trip to look at it, especially in this weather, but if someone is really, really serious, I might be coaxed into looking at it on a decent day.

BTW, if you are wondering if it is cold and snowing in Oswego on any day that's not considered summer, the answer is yes. The question is how cold and how much snow. The usual answers are "very and a lot".

I was chatting with him about this christmas day morning. I'd like to import it ito the UK. i asked him to give me 24 hours to think about it. when i went back the advert has gone, all the messages between us were gone, its now been reposted with a lower price. I asked him for a video of it running and he said he couldn't as it was too cold and snowy. if i could be sure it was a 100% genuine ad, I would definetly buy it. it looks from the pics, like the radiator coolant tank is broken too.

Depending on where he is, the weather could be pretty bad. Either way, it is winter and there is cold and snow on the ground.

It's going to be tough to sell a car there now... Most guys would wait until spring when the weather breaks. Unless he needs cash.

I looked at his facebook profile. He belongs to a somewhat local cruise group but I don't know him, never heard his name etc. I looked through his friends and didn't see a mutual friend, so I can't really check him out that way. Looks like he's got a couple unusual friends too, but who knows. Don't recognize any cars in pics either.

But!! He has 30 listings and he's looking for junk and scrap. Here's a phone number. That was listed a couple years ago.

Now I google that number and come up with this...

425 Buick Nailhead 400 tranny can hear Run

OK, that's interesting, the guy is/was on the HAMB.

Now I look at his profile....

old soul

And see he hasn't been on there in a while... But guess who he has been following!! Some member over there called Big_John... Yea, me...

But I look at a few of his posts... and things kind of line up, but I look at his pics on facebook and the age doesn't look right. I wonder if that's actually his son.

He probably is legit mate, please don't think I'm trying to do the guy down, he invited me to come and look at the car. The only thing that worried me was, the next morning, the whole advert was gone, and now its back advertised with a lower price. It was originally advertised as a imperial, now its down as Furry! ;-) He may have thought I was trying to scam him. The hardest part to buying a car from FB marketplace is as soon as you say "I'm in the UK and want to export it" they think you're a Nigerian Prince whose is going to take their house, car, children and money! lol

Nice survivor car. Has that flat rear bumper unique to the Fury I and II i.e. minus the centre reverse lamp used in the Fury III and Gran Fury models (clear reverse lenses are within the tail-lights). Perfect for a police/unmarked-type tribute car.

is that yours mate?

I wish lol! Looking at that plate that car appears to be in Europe. Hope you get that NY car mate, looks to be in very good condition - bottom of the fenders/wings/guards, doors, quarters, rear window all appear solid (all typical problem areas). Even the boot/trunk floor looks good.

cheers mate, much appreciated. I know nothing about them, always having chevys for the last 30 years so that's a big help. I'll let you know how I get on! :)

Mopars are addictive. That car in my Avatar was a '73 Fury Gran Sedan, which I got near the border of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in about 2004/2005, finally broke it earlier this year. The vinyl roof killed it but yielded some good parts!
