1962 Chrysler New Yorker Station Wagon
793 built in 62.
Mostly original
Runs,drives, and stops.
Drove it 300 miles to Goodguys in Scottsdale a few weeks ago and it did great.
Car is pretty rust free. The worst spot is the spare tire well. Has a small spot behind passenger rear wheel, above passenger headlight, and a small spot on front floorboards.
I believe the mileage to be original. I picked the car up a year ago and it had been off the road since 1985. Car runs good, but it does smell like it's burning oil. I recently had the heads worked on. A few valves were replaced and new valve guides installed. Transmission goes through the the gears, but it does shift quickly. I haven't taken the time to adjust what I believe to be a kick down adjustment. The biggest issue in my opinion is the brakes are a little touchy and after a while they don't completely release. I have to manually open a brake bleeder to release pressure. After that they're good for a while. Electroluminescent lighting for the gauges does not function. Pretty sure it's the oscillator I just haven't had it rebuilt yet.
Overall it's a really awesome car. Original paint with a few repairs done over the years and paint blended in.

definitely an ambitious project for a wagon enthusiast. Still, might not be a bad starting point, and when's the last time you saw one?

Those are not in demand like the 1960-61 models due to the lack of fins. Not many options doesn't help either. A neat car, but he will have it for awhile at that price. Thanks for sharing.

I love it, but I gave just $1400 for my 66, which was in similar condition, likely better. I can't see $10k for this one. Pity too, as being a Tucsonan, AND wanting a C-body station wagon I'd like to see something turn up here. Still, its just too much for this one. (NOT that I have a CENT to spend right now anyway...)

It's my car. Not really to excited about selling it, but I kind of have to many projects right now. It's a cool car. Didn't know where to price it. I realize it's a little over priced, but as mentioned above it's kind of hard to price it because there aren't many that are out there for sale? If anyone is serious about it I am open to offers. Like I said, $10,000 was just a number being thrown out. In my mind it's a I don't want to sell it price, but we'll see. If it doesn't go by the time I finish my Crewcab it will get and injected motor and interior done
