Saw this on Facebook. Guy claims he's gonna junk it. Looks like it could be salvageable? If not a great donor car. I wish it was close by.
What is h code? My guess would be a two barrel 400, but I am not sure, since my service manual is not with me currently.Looking at the exhaust manifold............H-code car..........SAVE IT!!!!!!
H code = 383 High Performance..What is h code? My guess would be a two barrel 400, but I am not sure, since my service manual is not with me currently.

Awesome, thanks Trevor, I knew it was either a low option 400 or a high option 383.H code = 383 High Performance..
also, I think the 400 engine was introduced in 1972...correct me if I'm wrong...
HP manifolds give away a 4bbl engine. Carb does look original.I believe this is a G code 383 2 barrel. The 2 barrel carb looks pretty original to that engine.
Could be a old boneyard heat riser fix, simpler for some to R & R the manifold with a working junkyard one as the heat riser replacement kit required some tack welds. Are you guys seeing something I’m not?!? That is a 2 barrel carburetor. Also, If it had 4 barrel exhaust manifolds you be able to see the driver side as it has a large upsweep and would be visible. I’ll admit the pass side looks like a 4 barrel exhaust manifold from that angle. I guess the vin will determine what’s up for sure.
