Whenever I go exploring Junkyards for C body gold, I end up finding myself looking for dome lights if I can't find any Polara parts I'd need for my 71s.
I now have 6 dome lights, actually 7 if I count the one in the 73 I am parting out, and some spare bases. I like the unique dome/map light combo but they aren't as common. Does anyone else have that one random part they are always hunting for?

I get a lot of request for those.

Several members of this forum would very much appreciate it if you put some of the 71 dome lamps up for sale.

Well I have two 71s and plan on putting the two in and having a spare one on hand. I would maybe cut loose some of the standard ones though. I remember playing with the combo dome light in my Dads 71 Polara when I was a kid so I am kinda partial to those.

Wow haven’t seen c body gold at boneyards since the early 90s thank god for our southern states and fellas who have the land to be the crazy cat lady and horde all these epic parts & cars. Even the specialty guys around my neck of the woods caved and scraped to pay their property taxes, most are elderly now.

I'm in Northern Illinois. There's not much left here but I've noticed with c bodies you have to be consistent, and explore all options constantly...

Those look like they’d fit my 72. Found one from a 73 Plymouth maybe? Long time ago. Couldn’t get it working but has that switch in the front. That style might be for 2 door models? I’m guessing. It is kind of unnatural to reach back in a 4 door but it holds my brittle head liner up pretty good. Lol

I have a list of "not so random" Formal parts I always look for... unfortunately, most of them only come from Formals...

It might be a slightly different globe design but the map/dome light was an option in 69 also. My 69 SF has this dome light.

65-66 NYr, Newport, 300 map lights. Seem to keep finding the trim in decent shape, but lens and switch are almost always broken.

Yes. They are the same. I've looked into it. That also means that there is infact repop lenses too...
The dome/map light with the switch may have been used at some point in the '70 Challenger SE production, but in the earlier production cars there was no switch, there was a small lens about the size of a quarter.

Some were partial. Always seem to be missing the shade and metal cover. I think out of 8 lights I have 4 that are complete and parts to repair others from today. They are neat.
