You didnt need to tell me that Mark.......

no reserve........so you could always bid and see if he holds up his end of the bargain (if the ending price turns out to be one). Where's the guy who bought the orange polara rag, here is his parts car (although IMO the red one should be saved, looks to be ok rust-wise).

google maps says 2 hrs, 41 mins from my house.

yes, but they need to be a bit nicer than most of what is on these cars.

you know what I really need soon? a center for a road wheel, this missing one sticks out like a sore thumb.

if only i had a big pole barn............

Interesting fact: these cars are both orig PA cars, titled only 2 weeks apart back in Oct 1970.
Amazing how many 70 Polara verts came out of PA

Hey Mark, did you notice that both cars are by the sequential VIN number early production of 1970 model year and they must have been rolling out of the prodution line in the autumn of 1969.

The date titled for the first time in Pennsylvania for DL27L0 is October 21st 1970 and at that time the 1971's were already at the show rooms.

The DL27G0 was titled in PA for the first time October 7th 1970.

The question is where these cars spent their first calender year?
I assume somewhere else than at PA.

I think they sat untitled for awhile as new cars. Of course they could have been titled in another state but some of this stuff sat on showroom floors/lots for awhile and had to be discounted in order to be sold. It just seems very odd to me that 2 cars, both of which were pretty rare even when new, ended up @ the same time in the same area (abt 16 miles apart) of one state. My guess is that the same dealer had them and they either sat for awhile or were used by the dealership and sold the next year, and sold around the same time.

Too bad we don't have windows sicker or orig sale paperwork.

Thats my thought Mark........ they may have been demos at the same dealer .....or who knows , coincidentally different dealers...as demos

All a big mystery... Its nice when they come with the original paperwork

Looks like carbuyerkevin managed to get $3,150 for them, after at least one other eBay listings:

A lot of old threads being revived today.

Answer 1: no update since those original threads, AFAICT -- and I am curious
Answer 2: Carlisle is coming up -- now that I got my '70 vert and it's fixed, I gotta catch up with basic info
Answer 3: since I spent my free time this weekend trying to patch/connect old threads, happy if someone else benefits too
Answer 4: all of the above.

Every old Fuselage Polara thread being revived today

Palace Revolution. :p

Not at all. I am rather more specific. Only old 1970 Polara convertible threads that bring questions to mind which I cannot answer.

Need some youth to carry on the torch.

Nope. All I am hoping is for Dave (and others -- hint, hint, dear Old Men with Hats) to use his torch and shine the light on these questions.

Cheers!
