1st snow of the season.....

Every once in a while I reflect that I miss seasons. Then you guys post pictures of snow and I remember shoveling. At that exact time I'm thankful to live in FL. If only it had some mountains...

Similar look here in the Motor City today. It doesn’t bother me much at all.

I really don't mind winter, especially since retiring. Shoveling snow is refreshing and good exercise, the chance of seasons is welcome and it gives me time to work on the cars!!

Get got the same blanket last night. It will help with spotting the deer this weekend! "It's the second week of deer camp, and all the guys are here..."

I just played a cassette of this for a guy to hear a couple of weeks ago.

The only thing that gets me about winter is that as a working smuck I haven't finished all of my summer projects yet.

It started snowing here about an hour ago. Lawn is covered, but it doesn't seem to be sticking to the pavement. I was going to get the snowblower out this weekend...... Maybe sooner now.

We get hammered here with lake effect snow from Lake Ontario and then Nor'easters coming in from New England. They meet in the middle right over us and we average about 10' of snow per season.

Reality just hit for those trying to sell their overpriced 3k “classics” on Craigslist for 10k or more. Try it again next spring...

Once the job thing was out of the way, (at least full time), the snow wasn't too much of an issue. I can deal with it when I feel like it. I like to raise my cup of coffee in morning and salute those as they head off still fighting the good fight.

I think that is one of my favorite things about retirement...

Just got home from the farm. We got abt 1" of the white stuff and the county road crew added abt 2" of salt to that....:BangHead:. So much for a late fall cruise in the cars. Parked for the winter now. :(

I heard on the news yesterday, we were getting the white stuff overnight.
Now that Daylight Savings Time has ended and it's getting dark by 5pm, I went home about an hour earlier yesterday to pull the snow blower out, to make sure it's fueled up and ready to go.
Turns out the snowfall wasn't as much as predicted, but seeing we got our first measurable snow for the season, it's a sure sign of what's coming. Not looking forward to this. :(

i spent 4 days in hilton head s.c. last week end now i know why people go south for the winter

ok, we are having temps in the 60s in germany right now.
For our southwest desert members: what you see in the background are leaves something unkown to our endless summer friends
