This is a very unusual Road Runner which unfortunately I have no tags, sheets or original drivetrain for. I bought it as a rolling chassis and appears to have mainly been a race car since the mid '70s and it was quite a mess when I bought it 7 years ago. since I basically drilled this thing almost entirely apart at the spot welds I was able to determine a lot about what it was originally. It's a 383 4 spd post coupe with no power steering or power brakes but it did have air conditioning which means it has the 26" radiator and tinted glass and it was originally LL1 turquoise with black interior. I also think it had the decor package because it had the wide tin trim across the trunk and stainless B pillar covers. The only metal that's original to the car is the roof, rear underseat floorpan, the rocker assemblies, the B pillars down to the rockers, the front frame rails, the inner fender aprons and the radiator core support. I back halved the car with a rustfree rear clip from the NM desert so it has oem rear rails, trunk floor and wheelhouses while the quarters, trunk floor extensions and gutters are all AMD along with all the interior pans. I also replaced the entire cowl from the top of the rockers to the base of the windshield A pillar with a non ac (sorry Stan) unit from another car.
it will live on as a turquoise 383 4 spd. I picked up a matching engine and trans that were removed from another '68 RR and this time it'll have a Six Barrel set up under a '69 fresh air hood with an original set of ductwork. The interior will be a white over black bench with no headrests and if I can find the front wheels to complete the set it'll roll on vintage Daisy wheels.

Wow Matt, that's a lot of work you did there. Looking good, look forward to seeing this one finished. I like the choice of induction you are going to use, and I LOVE those wheels, one of the first aftermarket wheels I ever liked, I actually have a set off my friends Super Bee that are painted a dark grey. Let me know if you can't find any for yours.

WOW, you are dedicated! I really like the LL1 turquoise glad it will be a different color than the usual Big 3.
