Who should I trust basically.

Nick: Call the Comp Cams people and tell them what you have in the way of engine, carburetion, transmission, rear end ratio, weight of the car, etc. And they will give you a recommendation that should be pretty much spot on. . . . And their cams are usually very good quality / performance.

For me it was whatever my engine guy said (Comp Cams), he is the builder so what he says goes.

Mopar performance they were engineered by Mopar engineers in the 70s and still work to this day. No fuss no b.s.

You guys know way more about Mopars than I do, but I have to differ on this. I think that, in the day when nobody took Chrysler performance seriously, Mopar made the best cams. But cam technology has come a long way, and manufacturing has come a long way. Modern cam grinds have left the old Purple Shaft behind.

But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. You're not going to race it. You'll never go heads-up against anyone. Hughes, Comp, Lunati, Mopar... the important thing is to talk to a number of people, tell them what you have, what you want to do, and what your total engine pagage will be, and listen to them (or read their opinions). Which ever one makes the most sense to you, go with that. You'll be stoked.

Nick, my 2 cents MP. p4452759 it will still work with your 2bbl and exhaust manifolds and run power brakes, also allow for small upgrades in future (4bbl, manifold, headers). Friend of mine has this cam in a 318 that was in dart sport car ran a 14.4 with a trans that had two feet in the grave, this should be in a 4 door dart running at pgh raceway by the june mopar event will let you know how it runs, I know that it is a easy to live with, vacuum, idle quality etc.
