The stupidity of these Inspectors is well known .In 1985 While living in Phoenix I had my charger In for the yearly emissions test. ahead of me was a 77 little red express, with vertical stacks in front of the box. One was a phony, but the idiot put the sniffer in the phony one, and said it was the cleanest running truck he had yet to test. The guy paid the 10 bucks, laughed and drove off.

No sense getting worked up about that. Just politicians justifying themselves by creating uninforceable laws. It does create a "probable cause" issue, but otherwise it's business as usual.

You have to admit there are vehicles on the road, espically some motorcycles, that excede the comfortable sound limits of exhaust note.

Sorry, but I believe we should fire every single one of these self centered assholes in congress and the senate. That's 90% of the country's problem. As a Michigander, I have, in the past, beat 2 tickets for loud exhaust for the simple fact that the law didn't have a specific decibel limit. I also feel like I should point out that every car more than 10 or so years old up here has "aftermarket" exhaust. when you need exhaust, you go to a muffler shop, not a dealership. This sounds like another law designed to take attention off all of the dumb **** politicians do on a daily basis. But hey, theres no inspection up here! Good luck proving anything, I can swap mufflers in about an hour in my driveway...
