What is the best paint to use for the silver fittings at the end of the power steering and air conditioner hoses? I have used a wire brush to clean them and they look excellent. However, I think I should paint them with some kind of chrome colored paint or they will rust over time. What kind of chrome paint should I use? Thanks!

Have you considered a clear coat? Maybe take wire wheel to them first, followed by a Brillo pad and then a clear coat. You’ll retain natural color and have protection from corrosion.

On my '67 Newport, on the metal a/c lines that went from the compressor, I red Scotch-brited them and they came out very close to a satin chrome, pretty quickly. I concur with the clearcoat paint being a good option.
