Pending Dilema

say hello from Finland. He has some friends over here :hatwave:

So you're the one! LOL! He's getting ready to liquidate more of his project cars. I think he's down to around 70 or so now. His brand new 3,500 sq. ft. garage is almost complete.

............who?

It's not my place to put his name out on a public forum. He has a Mopar collection that would make any car guy weep, question his sanity or both. His new garage is right next to his other 3,000 sq. ft. garage. He's got the sickness in a bad way but has some BEAUTIFUL cars.

Richard Carpenter has a nice collection, but I think he hasn't got that many.

OK. I can truly understand that. All I really care about is does "who" have my car??? LOL.

I know somebody out there has it.

back to topic:

It is very difficult. I can share some thoughts with you because I had this decision to do in the past, too.

I love C-Bodys but I am a 68-70 B-Body guy. The Cs are a side line even though I like them really a lot.
I do own my personal two dream cars today. They are both genuine R-code Hemi Cars in fc7(plumcrazy). A 70 Charger as well as a 70 Super Bee. For each of them I had to let go other Hemi cars as well as some other nice&rare Mopars that I had. I had my doubts sometimes, too as I had to let go cars that I loved and I knew I couldn't replace them . One of them was my golden 70 SFGT with V1G gator roof. But I knew what I was hunting for. I do not regret having it done till today. How many of us can really say they have their ultimate dream cars? If the 300F is your favorite from the 57-61s: Just go for it. No compromises.

As I said I am from the B-Body corner originally. I really like the Exner cars from 57-61, too. Exspecially the letter cars are famous for being the fastet street cars back in the day. So when I had the chance back in 1998 I bought a 58 300D locally. It had a freshly done 392 with 2x4s. The so called "beautiful brute". But honestly: I was disapointed when I drove it. Don't get me wrong. It was fast. But being used to 440 B-Body Muscles: it was real slow. It ran a 15.3 on the track with 3,31 gears. That is a time you usually run with a factory stock 383 RR or Super Bee and 3,23 gears. Which were the slowest cars in my collection. The ten years time from 58 to 68 had brought a lot of change to the cars back then. Back in 2006/2007 I had a 61 300G with the longram. It really has a great sound when you floor it. It seemed a little bit faster than the 58 and carries less weight. But again it was nothing to fight with genuine late 60s muscle.

My advice: If you can: Test drive it. Floor it. Compare it to your GTO and the 4-speed. Have a good thought which one brings you more fun. Unfortunatly a 300F with a Pont-a-Mousson 4-speed manual transmissions will be extremly tough to get and finance.

I hope you will make the right decision. Good luck

Carsten

Your Chrysler is such a beautiful car I can't imagine ever selling it, but if it isn't your dream car I guess I can understand it. What would a car in that kind of condition bring? I don't know the market for them.

Here is my 2 cents worth. First you know I love your 300 and that fact that you brought it back from nothing you have a connection to that car. If you do buy your dream car I think it needs to be a complete, clean car that needs to be restored. I don't think you will ever have that connection to that new dream car if it comes to you in near perfect shape.

After saying that I wouldn't sell them.

Let's get started on that 4 speed and six pack conversion on you 300, shall we.
When it's finished you'll ask yourself why didn't you do it sooner.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I knew I wasn't alone in deciding what to do. I think I'm going to drive my friend's '57 and if allowed his 28,000 original mile '60. I'll make a decision on what to do after that. Who knows, I may not like 'em. I doubt it, but it's a possibility. The ultimate dream car would be a '60 300 F Convertible but that is way, way out of my budget. A while back a decrepit project car went for over $40K on eBay. It would take another $60-$80K to make it right. If I do decide to sell, I wouldn't even know where to start as a listing price.

my friend, a nice american:wavesmile:

i don't think he has your car because you don't seem to know what it should be
You're too busy linking songs to have paid attention.
Most of the regulars here could describe it to a T.

It might not be easy but I would try ebay.
But an ebay auction needs to be done properly. That means a lot of pictures and a serious description. If you did a resto: Post pictures of the resto. Put a high reserve on it and see how many people react and what they offer
