Photos of Vintage Auto Dealerships, Repair Shops, and Gas Stations

Former Claude Nolan Pontiac-Cadillac, Main St. at Orange, Jacksonville FL

Built 1912 in the prairie school style., remodeled in the 1940's and shown below in 1960's in a more mid-modern style, abandoned as a dealership in 1975.

hulking relic most of the time since, and facing off/on demolition for years, its still hangin' on.

Now, an urban white elephant, with an "environmental" cleanup chaser to boot (could be why it hasn't been razed).

Packard nerd that I am, I was hoping it was still there.

Yep, 1931, location 400 Columbia St. (at Berne), Schuylkill Haven, PA.

Building still (minor facade mods) there in my estimation (e,g., looks like a "showroom", other architecture detail looks right, left side of pic (S. Berne) street curves around to the right..

Also, link indicates the taller cat in none other than Jack Dempsey (posing with Earl Stoyer).

Unknown location.

This art-deco beauty had to be located if it was still standing.

Former Sim Hudson Motors, 1332 Senter Ave, Burlington, CO. Started life in 1912 as the Golden Belt Garage, in 1932 Sim Hudson put a magnificent art-deco facade on it.

Shown here in 1967.

Now a National Historical site, its gonna stay beautiful as long as it lasts. A little bigger, too much snow, but I'd love to hobby house this baby.

I was hoping you'd find the location on this one and it would be still standing...

Frank needs to do a better sign!

Mostly intact. Roof has been added with an awkward transition into the other building and those great curves around the windows are gone.

Looks like the buildings are still there, with the façade changing in that 50's postcard.

D&D Sales Company Crosley, Toledo OH, 1949

Note the tin ceiling and the light fixtures. Kind of unusual for a service area.

This is actually in Lone Pine California (about 55 miles south of Bishop), apparently Ellis Motors moved to Bishop later

What initially caught my eye was the little platform with a telescope on it. The only reason would be something big, like Mount Whitney (highest peak in California)

From another image, the sign on the building references Mt Whitney.

That being said, this could be the building, just not a lot to go on.

I searched quite a bit for info on this place and couldn't find anything. This seems pretty large and a lot more office space than the usual Goodyear store might have.

Anyone have an idea?

Note the blimp above the gas pumps.
