The former Tower Garage, Engham, Surrey, England.
Built 1935 by Vauxhall, remodeled/enlarged in 1955 (to the right/deeper into the lot mainly), bought by Shell in the 1960's becoming a gas station and service center.
Maranello group got it late 1960's, and has been selling luxury auto brands on this site ever since. Finally a
Grade-II designation (like a historic building designation, so it can no longer be altered.
Other that being bigger over the years, it retains a lot of its art-deco charm, particularly the "clock tower" (and left of that) and curvilinear street-side, facade, large, straight line window and glass-block style.
WAY too big/way too much history (too many restrictions) to be a "hobby house" .. but I'd really like to own it for that purpose anyway
.
Chewed up my lunch looking for vintage photos but struck out. Love to see it under Vauxhall's and Shell's ownership.
