Actually A03 is deluxe light package for 1971. In ‘69 & ‘70 it was the option group for the wagons. What is
I just can't get past this back window, I'd have to pass no matter how good the car or the deal was.

I wondered the same thing. If you're gonna load up a 71 Dodge C more or less to the hilt including a trailer tow package, why not get the 440? Strange. I guess it could've been an availability issue. I've read that, while the 440 was available in 1966 for Fury and Polara models very, very few were actually installed. Supposedly since the 440 was standard in the New Yorker that car got dibs on 440 production. So, why not the 440? The N is so uncommon in Vs it's curious.
Yes, Y14 is a sold car but, could that have gone to a dealer as show room fodder?
What! Are ya kidding me? That is a GREAT looking back window. And seeing that pic from 69monaco surprises me. Another lime green 71 Monaco 4DHT does exist... <drool>I just can't get past this back window, I'd have to pass no matter how good the car or the deal was.

So did you happen to take any other pictures of the car at the time? Would be interesting to see what it looked like!About 10 years ago I was visiting family near Phoenix, AZ and decided to do a little "rust free sheet metal" searching for my project cars. I visited salvage yards around the Phoenix airport and also Desert Valley Auto Parts.
One of the cars I stumbled into was a thrashed and trashed 71 Monaco that really fascinated me. Look at the fender tags of this car. Can you picture this thing as a new car? It must have been amazing. Almost certainly special ordered.
71 Polaras/Monacos hold a special place in my heart as one of my early cars was a 71 Polara Brougham 4DHT. Mine was a gunmetal blue example with a black vinyl top and black cloth interior. A funeral home was selling it and it was in excellent condition when I bought it. It had a lot of options like the top level stereo, power windows, power bench seat, power trunk lid release, a/c, the lamp package with door ajar and low fuel indicators, etc. Oh, it also had those beautiful 20# diecast wheelcovers that were first available for 1969. Man did I love that car but I sold it to buy a 1970 Imperial LeBaron 4DHT. The Imperial was a beautiful luxobarge but not nearly so much fun to drive as the Polara. I still have the Imperial but I wish I still had the Polara. Oh well.
Anyway, here are shots of the Desert Valley 71 Monaco:
No I didn't. It wasn't worth taking any pictures because it was a mess. Wrecked, partially stripped, etc. I did notice the two fender tags though and, once I scanned them, knew it was once an awesome C body. For reference, here's a pic of a 65 300 coupe they had. A mess, right? Glad I wasn't the guy behind the wheel when the even that created that mess transpired. So did you happen to take any other pictures of the car at the time?
