My ten second Challenger...
Time slips, please....

I had an LS3 C6 with mods that couldn't get into the 12's.

.
:laughing4: So true, talk is just talk.

Fortunately for me, I just had to follow the path that a bunch of guys had painfully paved. Lots of blown engines & tons of broken axles & trannys. It's real clear now what mods = a certain ET. The shop that's finishing the build has LOTS of cars running 10's, some running 9's & 1 ready to go 8's. They consistently maintain the record for the worlds fastest street legal gen III's. That's why I went there in the first place.

So when is the car going to be done? Will it pass an emission test or are you tagging it as a hot rod?

Uh-huh. OK.
So theoretically your Challenger should break into the tens's based on what they "told" you after you wrote a check...

HAHA

Not exactly. It's a project that I have been working on for several years. A quick list of the mods that I've done myself: Cold Air Intake, exhaust, suspension, LC1 with wideband O2, nitrous plate setup, dedicated fuel setup for nitrous, Trinity tuner/logger, transmission, driveshaft, differential, axles, torque converter.

Other than that, yea, I just wrote a check.

Ok, commando, you wanna put a little wager on what I'll run next spring? You name the bet. I'm telling you now that I'll run low tens.

OK. That just bumped you way up on my manly-man list. Good for you.

No. Not after reading the previous.

But you do lose points for using the bottle.

The bottle is only for the track since it is impossible to make a street driveable 4200 pound car run 10's on motor only without it (gen III that is). Most guys go blower but I want to run N/A on the street & spray it at the track. No sewing machine sounds coming from under my hood.

I'm hoping to run low 11's N/A. Do I get a bonus point back for that?

You get back points for N/A but lose points for having it run faster than my Vette.
That is oh so wrong!

All kidding aside, I know you can dip into the elevens, but, low 11"s? Mmmm. I'd like to see that. So you gonna cage that thing or you running illegal.

Keep in mind that I put a 4.10 gear in it & I'm running a 4200 stall on the converter. Both are a bit much/obnoxious/ridiculously fun for the street.

Over 9.99 and under 11.99 requires a 6 point roll bar on a full body car. That's what I had installed. Running illegal at my home track is a one & done deal. If you make a pass faster than what you're teched for they'll sit you out until you pass tech. I also need a driveshaft loop & a couple of other goodies. I'm seriously considering adding an engine diaper so that if something goes bad on the big end I stay out of the wall.

Running illegal is for dummies.

It was supposed to be done a couple weeks ago but I'm not stressing about it. I'd guess another month or two. I'll drag it home on a trailer this winter whenever it's done but I won't drive it until ALL of the salt has been washed away.

No emissions testing in Ohio, it's a street car.
