Can anyone please take the measurements of where to place the star on the 1972 fury right fender, ex 6" inches up from rocker and 11" from front wheel well

This example picture has the rocker molding on. Mine does not

It looks like it is in alignment with the bottom of door and almost centerd between front edge of door and wheel well (maybe a bit towards door from center)

Thanks

Looking at the supplied picture, that car's Pentastar seems a few inches too low, to me.

I know it's not a Plymouth, but I looked at my '70 Monaco and the star is actually IN the lower body side molding itself, which puts it above the level of the lug nuts, but below the outer center ring on the '75 Charger Rally Wheels on the car, at factory ride height.

Go into Google Images and look for factory pictures of those cars. Even some YouTube dealer training videos/television ads, too.

The presence of the lower body side moldings should have no affect upon where the PentaStar was placed, I suspect, as all cars had them in the same place. I also suspect the OEM production fenders were already pre-punched for them, but replacement fenders might not have been?

Just some thoughts,

Here's one picture I have archived, with the placement on a '69 Plymouth Suburban. When the image is enlarged, it clearly shows the PentaStar in about the same location as my '70 Monaco. I'll look for other Plymouth pictures that look "right" to me.

A quick search of photos on the web show that location correct. Molding or no molding.
Probably a common spot for rust that low on the fender.
As an aside, I had to scroll through a lot pics as 90% of them never get replaced after repaints.

My search revealed "72s with and without the PentaStar on it. Plenty of '71s, but few '72s and no '73s. It might be more correct than I suspect, but it still looks lower than what prior model years were, to me. Many more lh pictures than good rh side pictures! BTAIM.

Compared to the '70s and '71s, it's almost as of Chrysler was wanting to make the "Pride of the PentaStar" less with each model year, moving it lower and "out of sight, out of mind", eventually discontinuing its use a few years later. Seems like there was some internal issues on this? But I know that when it did return in a molded form, we rejoiced.

Just some thoughts,

If you have had a repaint or body repair the hole is likely filled with body filler, primer, paint... and sanded to a nice finish so you cannot find it. I was able to access the backside of the fender through the passenger door jamb. I was able to slowly rotate a very small drill bit through the backside until it pushed through the paint. This was on a ‘68, but the same principles apply. It was a tight fit.
