ALL the steel in Japan was irradiated from nuclear bombing just two sites?Agreed. Here's a little history on why 50's Mopars rusted at an accelerated rate. The US gov was trying to prop up the Japanese industrial complex after bombing it to dust during WWII to insure they would stay a democracy. They sold it as Patriotic duty to buy Japanese steel. The problem was that the steel coming out of Japan in that era was all recycled scrap from the bombed out bridges, buildings, etc. Most of which had been radiated during the nuclear explosions which caused molecular changes which increased oxidation rates. This phenomenon was unknown to metallurgists at the time. Chrysler was a leader in the 50's in this Patriotic venture which is why 50's Chryslers rotted so quickly.
I'm a tad hesitant to buy into that 100%
