That is a nice looking wagon! But the rusty quarters...and I'm sure other areas unseen, will negatively affect the asking price. ;)

I've given up o pointing out these ridiculous prices that are 2½ times what the car is really worth.
I've decided I'm just going to post them and if someone want to go and beat his head against the wall trying to convince the seller it's not nearly worth what the seller's asking, then good luck to him

pa·ti·na[SUP] 2[/SUP]

(pə-tē′nə, păt′n-ə) also pa·tine (pă-tēn′)n.1. A thin greenish layer, usually basic copper sulfate, that forms on copper or copper alloys, such as bronze, as a result of natural corrosion or chemical treatment.
2. The sheen on a surface, such as one made of wood, produced by age and use.
3. A superficial exterior layer; a coating: "Everything bore that dull patina of grime that speaks of years of neglect" (Amitav Ghosh).
4. An appearance or perceptible change produced by behavior, practice, or use: "Beneath the fourth-grade patina of obedience and good manners I could be such a surprisingly irresponsible, daydreaming child" (Philip Roth).

Only 5 years ago or less we called that rust all over the tailgate. I still call it rust as patina it is not as per the definition above. Unlike the patina on copper the rust on a car will not be protective in the slightest. We need to keep on calling this rust rather than allow the word to be highjacked into meaning something different.

Minor wear on an unrestored low mileage car in my book. The line to simply rust or pretty run down is being crossed all the time since Patina is considered something valuable by the car collector Fashion crowd. When I bought my first old cars a quarter century ago I thought I'd be about the only one around to appreciate and Prices were lower than for restored stuff.

Nice project wagon.....probably a lot more rust than we can see.

Sweet wagon, I like it a lot. I know what you mean Stan, I stopped commenting on price quite some time ago.

I posted it because it was not your bountiful Fury or Chrysler ( Did every block have at least 3 T&C's? Yes. They did) and because I've been seeing some subtle whispering about how they want one of these Slab wagons.

I still like commenting on price... sorry Matt, but I feel these guys need a reality slap.... nice car but definitely not worth 7500!
As far as the term patina goes... I hate that term with a passion! It's like a politically correct term for saying your car needs some more work, but you don't want to "Offend" anyone... "I love the patina" ... gag me with a spoon! Just call a spade a spade for crying out loud we all know what you mean lol

I like Patina.
I sometimes like "heavy" patina, too.
It does depend on the model itself, too.

In example a fuselage Imperial Coupe with patina is not my favorite, an Imperial deserves it to look nice.
But if it is an original worn out cop car with original paint: I love it.
I guess I have seen the Blues Brothers too often.

Carsten

I consider patina and rust two totally different things. This car has some great patina but it also has rust that can't be ignored.
