Power antenna install

I don't know if my '74 Fury had a factory installed power antenna because in the past somebody decided to stole it so when I bought it the car had an ugly aftermarket antenna.

I bought an aftermarket universal power antenna taking the opportunity that I had to took off my passenger side inner fender to replace the blower motor but I can't realize how to install the antenna because it doesn't fit!

If I'm right the stock power antenna for the '74 fury is one of these units:

To me it looks almost identical but when I went to install it figured out that there's a support in the middle of the way so I don't know how it should be installed

The antenna on the left is for the 74-78 cars.
Aftermarket antennas wont fit into the cubby hole the antenna sits in.

I was not expecting that When I bought the antenna the seller told me that it should fit on later model c-body cars without problems.

So, the unique solution is to fin a NOS replacement? or can something be made to this antenna?

Find a working used one.

Something like this might work. I'd look for a used one if it were me.

What is that support for? I realized that If I remove it I will be able to install the antenna without problem
