Looking for photos of how a power steering cooler would be installed on a big block with Federal pump and A/C. I haven't found any good pics on the site as examples. I acquired a cooler and various brackets years ago but have no idea where or how they mount. Thanks......

This is the installation for a mid 60s C body, but it's fairly typical of what's found in later models.

The FSM and/or the Part Catalogue should have info.

Hey Ross! That whole setup is WAY more involved than what ended up on the '74 - '78 cars. The cooler is mounted virtually directly above the pump with minimal extra piping. Must have been the design approved by the purchasing department and not the engineering department!!!!

Hey Kevin!

Really? Interesting! But now that I think on it, I seem to remember seeing that.

Regardless - the proper service manual for his car will show its proper arrangement.

The 70's era PS fluid coolers look, in general, something like this (I have seen variations on the design):

Here's a pic of a pump with one...you can see the vertical..ish mounting:

Right - @kmccabe56 that was what you were trying to remind me of.

I know I'd seen it, just forgot. Attached to the actual pump. I would venture to say that compared to the location of 65-68 ones, there is NOT a lot of airflow there past the rad/condensor, yoke wall, etc... but perhaps the engineers deemed it sufficient to permit the bean counters to save on the installation costs.

This looks like the brackets for 1973 (and '72 too?), at least. The same brackets and cooler that I have (see below).

The 1971 FSM doesn't show any diagrams for the cooler mounting, unfortunately.

The 1973 pump was mounted further outboard than in 1971. in 71, the pump is more or less directly below the AC compressor. So the cooler mounting photo quoted above would hit the compressor.

Looks like I have the wrong cooler for my car.

What year car are you trying to do? No '69-'73 C-body ever came with a power steering cooler.

Below is the cooler setup on our '73 440 RR GTX.

They are tough to find & expensive when you do (AAR/TA & Hemi car tax). I think Mancini offers repros now but not cheap.
