We are installing a mid 70's 440 into our 1965 Fury. All has been well until the last details of installing the power steering pump. We got a new Saginaw assembly from 440 source which does match up with the pully, but now we are hitting the motor mount so we will not be able to adjust our belt. I am assuming this is because it is the weird year for the Fury and we had to get the special mounts. We are looking for a fix or the correct pump that will line up with the crank pully and clear our mount. Please help!

Are you using the 1965 mounts on the mid-'70s block? Or the mid-'70s mounts that fit the block? Finding a shorter belt (or a smaller pulley) might be the trick?

Enjoy!

A few years ago I put a 73 440 in my 65 using the Schumacher engine mounts. I had to drill and tap the block for the one mount and I did have to clearance that mounting order to install my power steering . I had to grind off maybe 1/4” it’s hard to get a picture but I can get one of you need.
