Private conversations

How does one delete private conversations? I can select all of them but find nothing that allows me to delete and then start a new conversation which I am prohibited from doing.

select message, click leave conversation and then click go

Here is what to do........Click on the message envelope, then click "show all", check all of the boxes of messages you want to get rid of, then scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see Private messages. Click on the "choose action" and select "leave conversations". Then click Go and save. Done

Would have never gotten as I would have passed over leave as I was looking for the word "delete." Thanks.
