Your issue will be dodging the cross Rams AND the air cleaner with the transmission dip stick and tube. The '61 with Cross Rams being a cast iron center section had the dip stick housing connection and dip stick a much longer length and bolted to the block for additional support with one of the bell housing bolts and mounted to the transmission a certon way. The '62 with the entire aluminum torque flite body and NO CROSS RAMS, the dip stick housing and dip stick were a different and much shorter length and mounted to the transmission differently. If you're lucky and you still have the cast iron transmission OR CAN GET IT BACK, GET IT AND SAAAAAVE THAT TUBE AND DIP STICK even if you have to buy it back from where ever you let it get to. THEN BY USING BOTH DIP STICK TUBES YOU CAN MEASURE, CUT AND SPLICE USING THE BOTTOM OF THE '62 TUBE AND THE UPPER PORTION OF THE '61 TO DUPLICATE AND GET THE PROPER LENGTH RIGHT AND STILL HAVE THE RIGHT LENGTH DIP STICK...FYI, When you're done cutting and splicing, you've got it right when the dip stick ends up being 1/2 inch below the aluminum casting as it protrudes into the inner pan section TO BE CHECKED OBVIOUSLY WITH THE TRANSMISSION PAN REMOVED. Trust me, been there done that, Jer
